Itinerary

Arrive at Guwahati airport. You will be received and transfer to Cherrapunjee (166km/5hrs). Enroute visit Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Cherrapunjee

After breakfast if the day is not rainy, trek to Double Decker living Root Bridge at Nangriat with a local guide - These bridges are unique formations built by the secondary roots of the rubber trees. The local people net the roots with each other to form like a ropeway like structure which after about 100 years becomes strong enough to be used as a bridge to cross the hilly streams. Return to your lodge for refreshment. Afternoon visit Mawsmai Cave & Nohkalikai Falls at Cherrapunjee.

Drive to Mawlinnong village (90 kms/03 hrs) which is claimed to be the cleanest village in Asia. Mawlynnong village takes its position for its cleanliness. The people of this village have joined their hands to keep their village litter free. Also walk to the living root – bridge near the village. These bridges are unique formations built by the secondary roots of the rubber trees. The local people net the roots with each other to form a ropeway like structure which after about 100 years becomes strong enough to be used as a bridge to cross the hilly streams. On arrival at Dawki visit Indo – Bangladesh border check post and enjoy the boating (at your own cost) at Umngot River which flows through Dawki is one of the cleanest river with clear blue water.

Today’s attractions: Ward's Lake: A century old picturesque lake. Located in the heart of the city, popular for short garden walks and boating. The local people however prefer to call it Nan Polok (Polok's Lake) after an executive engineer named Mr. Pollock. Lady Hydari Park: Lady Hydari Park, stretching over a km is replete with roses and blossoms of exquisite hues and colours.Owes its existence to Lady Hydari, the wife of an erstwhile Governor of Assam. Shillong Golf Course: Shillong Golf Course is considered to be the "Glen-eagle of the East" at the United States Golf Association Museum. It was set in a valley at an altitude of 5200 ft in 1898 as a 9 (nine) hole course and later converted into an 18 (eighteen) hole. Don Bosco Museum: The State Museum is located in the state central library premises with a good collection of artifacts of North Eastern India in general and Meghalaya in particular.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Nameri National Park/Balipara (320km/07hrs) - covering an area of about 200sq. kms the park is the second Tiger reserve of Assam. The park consists of deciduous forests, hills and the river Jia Bhoroli flows through it. The rich wildlife of this park includes Tiger, Black bear, Elephant, Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Indian Bison, Pangolin, Indian Wild Dog, Deer, Civet Cat, Capped Langur, Jackals etc. It has over 376 species of birds and also birds of special interest such as the endangered white winged wood duck, four species of Hornbill, Ibis Bill and many more. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Eco-camp.

Today proceed to Dirang Valley (165 kms/07 hrs) – it is a charming place dotted with apple orchards and sheep breeding centers. On way visit Tippi Orchid Centre & Sessa Orchid Centres – both this orchidaria houses about 1000 different species of orchids. On reaching Dirang, check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Dirang.

This morning visit Dirang Dzong – the five hundred year old village including Sangte Valley which is the home to the rare Black necked crane and the Sheep & Yak breeding centers. Then take your drive through the hilly terrain to Tawang (141 kms/07 hrs). On the way you will visit the Sella Lake and Jaswanthgarh, is a memorial to the brave soldiers who single handedly tried to get hold of the Chinese army during Chinese Aggression, 1962. On reaching Tawang, transferred to hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.

Today explore in and around Tawang. Visit Tawang Monastery - The Gaden Namgyal Lhatse is located above 10,000 ft ASL, which was built in accordance with the wishes of 5th Dalai Lama in 1680 -81, Uni Gompa (woman monastery), Urgilling (birth place 6th Dalai Lama) and the War memorial. Overnight stay at Tawang.

Today go for the day excursion to PTSo lake and Sangetsar lake (visit to Sangster lake depends upon on weather and road condition). Evening back to Tawang. Overnight stay at Tawang.

This day drive back to Dirang. On the way stop at Jang Fall to get a beautiful view of the beautiful falls. Reaching Hotel, check in and relax. Overnight at Dirang.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Nameri National Park/Balipara (320km/07hrs) - covering an area of about 200sq. kms the park is the second Tiger reserve of Assam. After breakfast rafting at the Jia Bhoroli River running along the national park for water birds like – Ibis Bill, Ruddy Shelduck , Thick Knee, Plover, Kingfishers and many more. Later drive to Kaziranga National Park (130kms/03hrs) – a World Heritage Site and Tiger Reserve, covering an area of 430 Sqkms. It is the home to more than 80% of world’s Rhino population. Overnight stay at Kaziranga. (Rafting at Jia Bhoreli will continue till the end of April only)

Early morning Elephant ride (5.30-6.30 a.m. / 6.30 -7.30 a.m.) in the Central range. Back to resort for breakfast followed by an exclusive jeep safari (7.30 a.m. onwards) in the central range. After lunch enjoy another jeep safari in the Western range (2.30 p.m. onwards) of the park - ideal for grassland and big game like One Horned Rhinoceros and Water Buffaloes. Back to the resort before dark. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

After breakfast check out and proceed to Jorhat (100km/1 1/2 hrs). Check in to Kaziranga Golf Resort. Afternoon tea garden visit to know about the production of Assam tea. Rest of the day relax and try your hands in the golf course. Overnight stay at Jorhat.

Today after leisure breakfast check out hotel and drive back to Guwahati (320km/6hrs). Evening enjoy River cruise on the River Brahmaputra. (If reach early from Jorhat, visit Kamakhya temple. Temple closes by 4 PM). Overnight stay at Guwahati.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Guwahati Airport for onward destination
